Ella’s Horse-y Book Review

“Noni the Pony” by Alison Lester - definitely in our favorite pick! The story of Noni and her friends is sweet, the book has a nice rhythm, and it’s a great length for the 0-12 month range.

“That’s Not My Pony…” by Fiona Watt - This board book is a short read but babies will love interacting with the different textures within the story!

“If I Ran The Horse Show” by Bonnie Worth - this Cat in the Hat Learning Library series book is jam packed with equestrian factoids. Understandably, our favorite page was about farriers! A bit long for our infant currently, but I expect we grow into this book and I enjoyed the silly spin on equine knowledge.

“Touch and Feel Ponies” by DK Publishing - another story story featuring tactile patches that our baby loves interacting with!

“Little Pony” by L. Rigo - a cute story about mare and foal!

“Clip-Clop” by Nicola Smee - A horseback riding adventure with Mr. Horse and his friends!

“Painted Pony” by Taggies - Admittedly, this is a very short, simple story but our littlest equestrian loves the tactile elements of the crinkle paper, squeaker, and “tags”, so I’d recommend this for the 0-8 month age group. Bonus, the story comes to life with Taggie’s plush pony toy and plush pony rattle - both of with Ella loves to play with and Mom loves the [somewhat] more neutral color scheme of the plush toys.

“Horses Neigh” by Rebecca Glaser - Bright, colorful pictures for [future] horse lovers!

“Noni the Pony Goes to the Beach!” by Alison Lester - Another book in the “Noni the Pony” series, Noni and friends go on a beach adventure!
